August Press was founded in 1992 by Wayne Dawkins in order to publish his seminal work “Black Journalists: The NABJ Story.” Since then he has published eight additional books, including his sequel ”Rugged Waters: Black Journalists Swim the Mainstream,” and four books by NABJ colleagues.
